Records show that former Cedar Rapids Public Library Director Lori Barkema resigned after “an ad hoc personnel committee of the board of trustees was formed to handle concerns regarding (her) job performance.”
She “formulated an action plan to address the concerns (but) the ad hoc personnel committee expressed concerns that the action plan was inadequate.”
She was later told to resign or be terminated, the report states. She later resigned. (UPDATE: Click here to read The Gazette’s April 22 follow-up story.)
